This is a photo of an oil-on-canvas self-portrait by Australian artist Newton (Tony) Hedstrom (1969-2007). He painted it in 1987 and in 1988 it was a finalist in the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize competition. The painting also shows the artist’s wife, Marjorie Hedstrom. This pen and wash sketch is by Australian artist Dorothy A. Davies, FRAS. She sketched it while visiting Innsbruck, Austria, in 1980 just after the first snowfall of the year.
